ABOUT
Hi, I’m Rachel—a headshot photographer based in Glasgow.
I studied Sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art (2008–2012), followed by Filmmaking at SAE (2013–2015), with big dreams of making documentaries about artists. But everything changed when I landed my first job as a runner on River City—that’s when I fell in love with drama.
I worked my way up in production, eventually becoming a Coordinator, but it was always the actors who fascinated me. That led to a three-year stint as an Agent’s Assistant at Curtis Brown in London. Now I’m back in Scotland, working as a Casting Assistant for my dream boss, Orla.
In short: I’ve spent the last six years staring at actors’ faces on Spotlight—I know exactly what casting is looking for in a headshot.
So, why photography?
To fund my studies, I got a job in the film development lab at Jessops—best job ever! I’d always loved taking photos, but that’s when my obsession with 35mm film truly took off. Since then, I’ve rarely gone anywhere without my Nikon FT or Olympus Pen.
One day, it just clicked: I love actors, I love photography—so why not combine the two? And just like that, headshot photography made perfect sense.
What makes my work stand out?
I shoot exclusively with analog lenses to create a soft, distinctive, almost ethereal quality in every image. Each shoot is a true collaboration—designed to bring out your essence: your personality, energy, and character.
I take my time to get to know everyone I work with, making the process as relaxed, unrushed, and, most importantly, fun as possible.
Okay, that was a lot—but I hope you get the idea.
I’d love to take your photo!
